Blue Virginia
Blogger LenahRun, has posted a commentary on the political shifts in Northern Virginia. “This year, there are more people like me in Loudoun: Northern Democrats who are gradually turning Northern Virginia blue. Since our area is the most populous region of the state, Virginia now looks poised to vote for the Democratic nominee for the first time since LBJ's 1964 landslide.” Read the full post here.

Loudoun Home Sales Going Up
Loudoun County home sales are increasing, although prices are decreasing, reports the Loudoun Times-Mirror. Home prices are now at the lowest point since Nov. 2003, and 34 percent down from 2005. However, sales have jumped 57 percent since last September.

Let's hope Loudoun County does not vote for Socialism. Mr. Obama even stated today he wanted to "move the wealth around." Smacks of Socialism to me. His huge entitlements and tax the "wealthy" will be disastrous for the economy. With a Congress and President all Dem, kiss you economic future goodbye.
If you wish to blame Bush, keep in mind, it's Barney Frank, Chris Dodd in charge of oversight who should be included in that blame.
In a 2006 letter signed by John McCain imploring review of regulation of Fannie and Freddie..oh, yea, not ONE Democrat, including Barack Obama signed it...put them in charge of your future...
there you go...

Oh, give me a break kpetz. It's been the Bush-Cheney policies of deregulation that have gotten us in this mess. McCain was for deregulation before he was against it. Only when the country saw the Bush-Cheney-McCain policies for what they were--a tool to assist the greed-mongers on Wall Street--did McCain flip-flop.
Loudouners, if you want more of the same, then vote for McCain. If you want economic policies that help your average citizen, vote Obama,
And you want to talk about redistribution of wealth? Well, it has been the Bush-Cheney-McCain policies that have redistributed the wealth from middle-America and delivered it to the golden parachute types on Wall Street.

LenahRun: I voted "blue" on the last instate and county election. After many years of being "Red" I so deeply regret my choices that I have become a born again republican. TAX TAX TAX, look at the mess the school board has caused, look at the MEAL TAX the BOS are looking at. My electric, water and sewer fees have gone up. My property tax has gone sky high. If I hear correct MR. OB will only tax increase those over 250,000 per year? HELL I don't know anyone that makes that much money. How will that help ME! Please you’re doing an injustice to you intelligenance. Get real, it take more than a president to raise tax? It takes a congress!

Jobs, baby, jobs!

Why does Obama want to raise taxes on the very people who create jobs?

Ok. What is it about Obama that makes sense? I'm assuming that Obama fans:
a. Believe that choice and/or pro-abortion. I understand that they are two separate things. God gave us a choice, but the real debate is when does life begin. I for one believe it starts at conception. Speaking of choice...if a mother chooses to keep a child and the father does not, why should he have to pay child support? Do you believe in school choice?
b. If there were fewer guns, the there would be fewer violence with the guns. This assumption was proven wrong. Suggest doing some research on London's ban of guns (hint: crime went up). Also, check Florida's history on gun rights and crime levels.
c. Getting into Iraq was a mistake and that is the reason to get out as quickly as possible. I'm not pro-war. It saddens me greatly. But since we are there, we owe it to the Iraqis to not leave them hanging. It would certainly be a mistake to leave prior to ensuring that the country is stable; this is a fact regardless of whether you think it was right to go in there in the first place.
d. Redistribution of wealth is patriotic. Either you feel that you deserve other people's hard-earned money or you feel guilty for making too much. If you want to pay more taxes, send the treasury a check. I promise they won't return it. The steeply progressive tax structure that we currently have is ridiculously socialist.
Personally, I think both candidates are too socialist for my taste, but I'll take the lesser of two evils.
